Herstory

Which Witch was conjured into existence in December 2022 by Hannah Hersh and Karlie Finn, who first crossed creative paths while co-producing student films at DePaul University. Their collaboration was sparked by a shared passion for bold storytelling, inclusive filmmaking, and the unshakable belief that producing should be as empowering as it is expressive. Their creative chemistry quickly became the foundation for a production collective unlike any other.

Soon after, Alexa Venereo—a freelance director and head of marketing—joined the coven, bringing a visionary approach to outreach and engagement. She was followed by Isabella Siska, whose work as Director of Visual Arts infused Which Witch with her signature aesthetic flair. Together, the team created a multi-dimensional platform rooted in creative freedom, intentional collaboration, and community care.

Beyond filmmaking, Which Witch has expanded its magic into hosting events that range from curated screenings to immersive community nights. Our story has been featured in independent publications like Guts Instinct and academic thesis projects, a testament to our growing cultural footprint.

We are proud to have produced films that have received recognition and awards from the LA LGBT Film Festival, Panorama Film Festival (Salem, MA), NextGeneration Film Forum, CineYouth, and the DePaul Premiere Film Festival. Our sets are known for being safe, femme-forward, and queer-celebratory spaces—earning Which Witch a reputation as a hub for unapologetic storytelling and professional collaboration in the indie film scene.
